    About ABMR

Bone Marrow is the spongy tissue inside some of the bones in the body, including the hip and thigh bones. Bone Marrow contains immature cells, called stem cells. Numerous people with blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell anemia and other life-threatening diseases, rely on Bone Marrow or cord blood transplants to save their life. Bone Marrow contains hematopoietic stem cells which are progenitors to the three classes of blood cells: leukocytes (white blood cells), erythrocytes (red blood cells), and thrombocytes (platelets). It also contains mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) which are multipotent stem cells that can differentiate into other cell types including osteoblasts, chondrocytes, myocytes, adipocytes, and beta-pancreatic islets cells.
